MY POLICY

Ever since I started my practice I have attempted to return every call that has come to my office. Admittedly, I do screen out some unsolicited and undesired sales calls, but I have always given my time to respond to a call for help, even if all I can do is make a referral.

When I started my newspaper column, was surprised at the number of letters and emails that I received (over a thousand). Often a reader would ask for a copy of a previously published column or have a question or a concern that arose from a column that they had read. Again, I have tried to respond to all of these requests, though sometimes they took more than a day or two to get back to them and I even paid for the postage on the extra columns that they had asked for.

That said, I will do my best to get back to you and, within the requirements of my professional responsibilities (i.e., since I am not your psychotherapist, I have to limit the scope and intent of my remarks with respect to that boundary. I will try to answer questions, and respond to your comments, to the best of my ability and within the limits of my knowledge and wisdom. AC
